Set up directly on the sands of South Beach literally yards from the ocean, Scope is a must stop for anyone doing Miami Art Week. There are so many different, unique styles of art on display all in one location. Plus, Scope doesn’t ever feel stuffy, it’s a chill environment with pop up bars and even live shows happening throughout the days. One tip I can give you is buy the weekend pass, there is sooo much art at Scope you can’t possibly enjoy it all in one day. I started at Scope and then hopped around to a few other shows and came back the following day to finish seeing the rest of the art Scope had to offer. It’s that sprawling. Every turn brings new excitement due to the vast amount of art on display.

This was my second time stopping in at Aqua Art Miami and once again it blew me away! Compared to Scope, Aqua offers a more intimate approach to viewing art, each room of this iconic South Beach hotel are transformed into mini galleries, showcasing different collections in each room. It’s brilliant! There was a bar area and plenty of places to sit if you wanted to sit and just soak in the ambience. I went this year during the day and will say that the energy at night is much better! It becomes more of a party-but if you’re looking to truly take in art and less schmoozing, go during the day.
This year there was an epic live art performance using pieces of garbage found in our oceans and it was nothing short of moving. It literally left everyone at a loss for words. The performance will be included in my YouTube recap because only a video could do it any justice. Be sure to subscribe to my channel so you never miss a new post!

I cannot recommend this place enough, it’s a must see! If you have even the tiniest interest in digital art you will love this, honestly even if you don’t, the graphics are insane and a bit overwhelming but in the best way. Walking into Artech House I didn’t know was to expect, all the walls are painted black and there was little to no light; it was very dark and ominous to say the least. Everyone was asked to use booties to cover their shoes as some of the installations were sensitive to dust and dirt. Once inside you are taken aback with whole rooms transformed into this amazing cinematic experiences. This multilevel space has different graphics happening in each room simultaneously and even a Kasuma-like infinity room that is just breathtaking. This open concept leaves you free to browse the space, popping in and out as you please.

The energy in Wynwood is always a bit more creative than anywhere else in Miami and during Art Basel it’s completely insane!! This is kind of the hub of activities if you ask me, there are tons of activations set up all around the Wynwood area with art, concerts and even bmx. Watch the walls as they’re painted live, see street performers and even contortionists. Plus, some of the best food and restaurant options are located in this part of Miami, so anytime you need a break from art you won’t have to leave the area.
