Covid-19 has impacted our lives in so many ways. Death, worldwide shut downs, loss of jobs, shelter in place orders and ongoing anxiety being the most obvious and heartbreaking ways.
But what kind of trickle down effect will this pandemic have on other, more superficial, areas of our lives?
Personally, I’ve noticed an increased shift of focus from makeup to skincare over the past few months. Between not having to get dressed because you have nowhere to go and needing a little extra self-care to stay sane, daily face masks have quickly replaced foundation and eyeliner applications.
I can only hope our skin is going to reward us for this well deserved break from piling on the pore clogging makeup. Meaning, hopefully, less makeup needed in the long run.
Use this time to try different combinations of your products to see what works best for your skin. Not all products are the same! If you use something for about a week and you aren’t bonding with it, give it to a girlfriend or allocate it for different uses.
i.e. I use a couple of my collagen serums and moisturizers that I don’t prefer on my face for my elbows, knees and hands instead. So luxurious, I know.
So, after a little digging I learned that I’m not the only one thinking this way. Event organizer and founder of Unfiltered Experience, Daniela Ciocan, who’s on the front lines, having relationships with the most renowned beauty and wellness brands, buyers, and professionals, has received insider information on what trends we’re going to see once we’re allowed back outside.
What changes have you noticed in your own personal routine? How do you think your makeup will change post-COVID-19?
