How to Achieve the Perfect Summer Glow with an All Natural Self Tanner

Self tanning started off with a bad rep. Let’s be real, after seeing self tanning jobs gone wrong (see Oompa Loompa coloring) we all had a shared opinion that if you used self tanner you’d end up orange, streaky, splotchy and uneven. Right? Right! But luckily we were wrong. Gone are the days of bad tanning formulas, or well, gone are the days where those are the only options.

AKA my new go-to sunless option is hands down the best self-tanning product that I’ve ever tried! It has this perfect micro-mist technology that I felt safe enough spraying on my face. Something I had never tried with other self tanners before (besides the Mystic booth back in the day). Plus, it’s all natural, paraben free, non-comedogenic, cruelty free and gluten free, which just makes it that much more trustworthy! VersaSpa Bronzing Mist uses brown and green algae to deliver a dark, never orange, glow without the added toxins found in other self tanners and the algae also stimulates collagen in your skin to help it to become firmer. Score and a half!

But wait, that’s not even my favorite part about this product…It doesn’t stink y’all! Yes, finally I have found a product that I can apply after my shower at night, sleep in and then rinse off in the morning without ruining my sheets! It’s everything to me. I cannot stand feeling like I smell, as I’m sure most people can’t, and unfortunately majority of sunless tanners leave you with an unpleasant odor as the tan develops. I was expecting a mild smell because they only claim to reduce the odor by 89%, but the scent is almost non-existent. Speaking of developing the tan, you don’t have to depend on the overnight hours of development either, I’ve used this product only hours before an event and the tan is already substantial.

Self-Tanning Tips:

• Always start with clean, exfoliated skin
• Begin application at your feet and work your way up, doing one area at a time to completion.
  • First spray on self-tanner
  • Then using a tanning glove work the product in evenly using a circular motion (this is the glove that I use & love)
• Let your skin completely dry before getting dressed and stay away from water or any activities that will lead to sweat to avoid streaking
• Wash palms of hands to avoid having dark spots
• Leave the self-tanner on for at least 4-6 hours (or as stated) to let the color fully develop before showering
