What to Pack for Paris in the Fall | Paris Fall Fashion

Fixed to Travel: What to Pack for Paris in the Fall

I learned one thing in Paris, actually I learned a couple things on my first Paris Fall trip:

  1. Always pack a carry on bag with toiletry essentials and at least one outfit.
  2. A chic pair of tennis shoes is a MUST in Paris, in Europe period.

If you’ve followed me on Instagram for about a year, then you knew immediately, literally minutes after I realized what was happening, that my bags did not make it when I did on my first trip to Paris. No, they didn’t even make it the next day, or the next. Not until my third day in Paris did my luggage arrive. Whyyyyy? You guys can’t even imagine what an inconvenience this was for me! This was supposed to be my first debut at Paris Fashion Week, I had invitations! I even had invitations for the whole crew to a couple shows. I tried shopping, but you guys, I had strategically planned my PFW looks, therefore literally nothing I was finding was as good or as “perfect for the show” as what was lost in my bag. But no, for three out of four of the days I was in Paris I was without my luggage and that meant without everything. No straightener, no curling wand, only a quarter of my makeup-you know, the purse stuff AKA no foundation etc. So long story short, I didn’t get my first swing at Paris Fashion Week.

But enough about my bad luck, I was still in Paris after all. It wasn’t all that terrible.

Being without my planned outfits made me so much more aware of all of the super chic women on the streets of Paris. It was pure torture, but also inspiring.

UPDATE* I’ve been back to Paris (& my luggage made it too! see more of what I did on my Travel Guide HERE!)

Fixed to Travel: What to Pack for Paris in the Fall

Here were some of the pieces I kept seeing girls around Paris rocking that I too, may start incorporating more into my everyday Fall style and some pieces to definitely throw into your luggage if you plan to visit the city of lights this (or any) Fall.

A SLEEK LONG COAT

Every girl (and some guys) were wearing the chicest long coats. It was fascinating to me to see how much the coat elevated simple tee & jean combos to a level of sophistication. & to be honest, that’s what was under the coats more often than not, a simple basic tee and some vintage inspired jeans usually.

GREAT DENIM

I’m not joking when I say that it felt like every style of jeans from the 90’s were shipped to girls in Paris to sport. They had so many vintage-style jeans. I was obsessed. I don’t typically like light jeans very much but I did find a new appreciation for them after seeing how well they can be styled.

BLAZERS

I need some new blazers after visiting Paris, plaid specifically…and you guys know I already have quite the collection going. Blazers were everywhere and styled every way. I’m really into the belted oversized blazer look right now.

CHUNKY TRAINERS

I saw so many women sporting designer kicks, and I’m not usually super into labels (cough, liar) but I can’t help but want a designer style now too. It was actually one of the first things I came home and created a wishlist for after my trip. I’m dying over the Prada style, I need them in my life STAT!

I now, finally, see what all the hype over Parisienne street-style is all about.
