In a recent post I shared my famous Deviled Egg recipe and once I posted it I got so many messages from you guys regarding how I boil my eggs to get them ready for use, along with a few relatable horror stories.
I’m hear to tell you that with practice you can get better, take it from me! Cooking the perfect hard boiled egg was something I use to struggle with constantly, I was always undercooking the eggs. The worst feeling ever was peeling open a boiled egg to find the inside still runny, especially after you’ve already drained your boiling water and cold water blasted the eggs… second worst is finding it overcooked and green.
After years of perseverance I’ve finally found a method that ensures a perfect center every time. The Goldilock egg. Watch this short video or keep scrolling for instructions.
Get perfect Hard Boiled Eggs every time with these simple instructions.
Place eggs in a sauce pan and fill with water until eggs are just covered
Add a pinch of salt and place pan uncovered over Medium/High heat. Bring to a boil.
Once at a rolling boil cover pan with tight fitting lid and let boil for 1 minute.
After 1 minute remove pan from heat while keeping lid tightly secure. Let sit for approximately 15 minutes.
Drain water and add eggs to cold, ice water bowl
Peel or store in refrigerator.
I hope these easy to follow directions will help you next time you have a hunger for a hard boiled egg. Comment below and let me know if you have success with this method!
