Oh, Hi Sunshine! No, not you, I’m literally talking to the sun. I don’t want to be “that girl” that talks about weather you guys, I really don’t, but seriously? What’s going on fellow Austinites (and surrounding areas) the past, what has it been now 3 months?…of rain has been intense to say the very least. The skies have been so gloomy, the rain pouring and the traffic mounting. There was no going outside, no way! But then as the rain continued and continued on I realized it may never stop raining. What was I going to do stay inside forever? No sir. Working with the weather in mind here are the steps I took to style this outfit for a low key lunch with my love:
My ‘burgers & beer’ lunch date attire
I went with an all grey ensemble because after seeing nothing but all grey for weeks on end it was all that I could picture anymore. Kidding, kind of. I chose these acid wash-esque pants to camouflage any rainfall that I may have encountered (which came in handy considering it was pouring after lunch on our mad dash to the car).
Rainy days always give me a longing for coziness so this grey sweater was a must. The soft fabric along with the modern shape paired with the fact that its not too heavy made it an easy choice.
…sunnies, because even though its not really bright outside, its raining off and on. All its going to take is one raindrop hitting the corner of your eye and smearing that perfectly lined eyeliner down your face. Not down. Sunglasses please.
I grabbed this deep olive hat on my way out to prevent any further fro-age. The humidity here has been rivaling South Beach, Miami.
I finished my outfit with flats and a bag, both in a water resistant material and muted color. Each have small gold details that make them stand apart while still being perfectly cohesive with the muted tones.
Don’t let bad weather rain on your parade. (yes, I went there)
Xx Sylvia
