Earlier this week I was invited in to try the menu at Rosedale Kitchen & Bar, a brand new North Central Austin restaurant lead by chef Janelle Reynolds that serves up a variety of gluten free, vegetarian and seafood dishes for both lunch and dinner with brunch service starting mid-September.
The restaurant is beautiful, designed by Interior Designer Claire Zinnecker who’s also responsible for the stunning decor concept at Hanks, you can expect natural textures in an open airy space with two patio options. I was more than impressed with both the styling and the menu. Read on for some of my favorite dishes.
This cocktail was de-lic-ious OMG. It was a nice blend of creamy, floral and fruity. It sort of reminded me of a White Russian with a fruity touch. So yummy! This was the “cocktail of the day” so I’m not a hundred percent sure that it’s always available but they do offer the cocktail of the day each day for $5. They also made a mean Old Fashioned, which is a must in my eyes!
This is the first time I’ve eaten and actually enjoyed beets. These Roasted Beets with goat cheese, mint, candied pecans and a blood orange vinaigrette are balanced so perfectly. Coming from a non-fan of beets I highly recommend this dish!
So fresh, vegetarian and gluten free, with just the perfect amount of sherry vinegar. Great appetizer option!
Classic American style hamburger with double-chuck beef plus brisket patty, American cheese, Bibb lettuce and tomato with your choice of condiments. I’m a big bread person, buns make or break a burger for me and let me tell you, the buns on this burger were top notch! So soft, slightly sweet, just perfect in every way to put it lightly.
I can’t wait until September when they launch their weekend brunch menu! Look out for that post! In the meantime, let me know if you check out Rosedale Kitchen & Bar for yourself in the comments!
