I love a good monochromatic outfit (can you tell yet?) and when I saw this look from the Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2015 collection I knew I wanted to try to recreate it. The flower appliques on the skirt add the perfect amount of visual interest to this classic look and it really got me thinking about texture and fabric and the role it plays in transforming an otherwise basic piece. The skirt I found for my look doesn’t have flowers but it does have a subtle, quilted polka dot pattern throughout that really caught my eye and the price was perfect (on sale at $59) paired with a basic thermal top and nude sandals this inexpensive ensemble is almost a dead ringer of the runway version for less than a quarter of the price.
