Scottish Kilt Vibes

I’m wearing a kilt, a full on Scottish kilt.

One of my favorite things about vintage shopping is getting to repurpose clothing. I headed out to Monkies Vintage on the drag last week before Thanksgiving with my friend and photographer Monique for a day of vintage shopping and shooting and was not disappointed by the selection at this hip, amazingly curated shop. I spent about an hour in the fitting room trying on vintage dress after dress then fur after fur.
It. Was. Amazing.
I ended up leaving with my Thanksgiving shirtdress, a beautiful pink and black dress and this authentic Scottish kilt that I definitely thought was just a super cute skirt at first. Once the shop owner mentioned that it was a legit kilt, I was legit sold. I decided to modernize it a bit with classic black accents throughout, really letting the skirt be the star of the show, as it very well should be.
