Wishing You the Perfect Christmas Day + Sharing What That Looks Like for Me

Merry Christmas!

It’s freaking Christmas, already. It truly snuck up on me this year and I think it’s because I didn’t stick to my usual holiday traditions. I’m not sure what it was this year but the holiday bug never quite bit me. I just couldn’t get into the spirit, no matter how many times I watched Love, Actually, listened to festive music or put on holiday themed attire. I was a bit Grinch-like this year I’ll admit it. But you know what? 2018 is almost over y’all. Enjoy this last week of the year because come January first it’s go time! The thought of a fresh new year always excites me and knowing it’s only a week away is always the best gift for me waking up on Christmas day. See, who ever said I was difficult to shop for? ha. Back to my point, most years I stick to my holiday traditions and go a bit Christmas crazy. But this year I didn’t do anything holiday related: no parties, no white elephants, no outside Christmas lights, no plays and no cheer. I hope this isn’t an indication of how holidays go in your thirties. Today I plan to make up for it by cramming as much Christmas cheer into one day as possible. The perfect Christmas day if you will.

What is the perfect Christmas day?

• Waking up naturally, no alarm clock.
• The smell of coffee already filling the house
• Opening presents with family
• Easy, made ahead of time or minimal prep breakfast. Think Overnight French Toast or Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage mmmmkk.
• Endless snacks and desserts
• Cocoa out of a Christmas mug
• Playing with your new stuff and even some boardgames (we’re obsessed with Jackbox lately, what about your family?)
• Christmas movies. OK, lets be real, football.
• Naps. & more naps.
